The opening of India’s first Playboy club in Goa, originally slated for this month, has been delayed, but the bunnies, as the hostesses of the club are called, reached India last week for training, Mirror has learnt.

Mumbai-based Playboy Lifestyle, which has an exclusive 30-year license from Playboy Enterprises International Inc to open clubs and sell branded merchandise in India, has hired six foreigners for their first club, Playboy Beach Club, which will now open early next year in Candolim, Goa. The women are currently in the city for costume fittings, and will soon undergo a rigorous four-week service training programme conducted by the US-based parent company, to prepare for their role.

What’s more, their costumes will not follow the conventional Playboy bunny model. For the first time in Playboy history, the traditional bunny costume has been modified to suit local tastes and traditions. The costume will be unveiled at a fashion show on December 19 in Mumbai.
